Hey there! I hope your summer is going great. Can you believe it’s time for the August Currently post? Be sure to visit Anne’s site to check out what other blogger’s are up to currently. This month’s prompts explore what we are all admiring, anticipating, enjoying, spending and saving.
Admiring
Currently I’m admiring all of the Olympic level Athletes. They are the perfect example of focus, dedication and determination. I would be happy with a small fraction of their ability to train the body toward a goal. And yet my ultimate admiration is going to the athletes like Simone Biles and Naomi Osaka who have had the courage to say ‘enough’. Prioritizing their mental health is an example of boundary setting for all of us. I know I have physically pushed past what is healthy for me in the past all in the name of other’s expectations. I plan to channel this admiration into inspiration for prioritizing my own mental health.
Anticipating
I’m anticipating starting in a new role at work. In last month’s Currently post I was feeling a unsettled about some major professional restructuring. The fallout has resulted in a promotion for me and I’m grateful. I anticipate a challenging but hopefully also exciting and potentially fulfilling fall.
Enjoying
At this very moment I’m enjoying the Thousand Islands vacation that I also referred to last month. Perhaps I’ll write a more thorough review of the area in the future. For now, just know that the walking, boating, reading and porch sitting are in full swing.
Spending
I’m spending more time intentionally doing the things that I find rejuvenating and restful. For me this means making things, reading books, and my Spa Sunday routine. I’m spending less time in a goal oriented mindset and more time in an ease oriented mindset.
Saving
I’m saving a little more money these days. This means I have a little more money these days. This hasn’t always been the case and I am grateful.

Your vacation sounds – and looks – wonderful! Great photos!! Soak it all in:) Especially the summer sunshine!
That paragraph on spending is brilliant – I’m also trying to spend time on things that bring joy. A Sunday spa routine sounds lovely.
